Does anyone else think the way i do...

i think this chick is a complete stuck up snot...wtf...in my opinion a changing table is useless because you change a baby when and where they need to be changed...

Re: Does anyone else think the way i do...

  • I know a ton of people who only use their changing table when they're at home.

  • A) it IS clicky and B) If she's prepared to buy it all herself, who cares?

  • and thats good and fine but she came acoss as the floor or bed just was not good enough...at 3 or 4 am i am not going to be too concerned where i change my son just that it needs to get done...
  • Makes sense to me! She's going to use her dresser with a changer on top, works great for us. I change her in there 90% of the time. It's way easier than carrying diapers and wipes around everywhere. When she slept in our room, we used the changing part on the PNP.

  • I don't really see the big deal of getting a changing table. Someone bought one for us, I'm sure it won't get used 100% of the time, but it also has shelves which can be used for storage.
  • I don't think it's snotty at all. ?She didn't say it was wrong or stupid that someone else wasn't using a changing table...she just said she wanted to. ?We will be using a changing table for every diaper change because we are CDing and we have to put the diapers in their pail. ?And I know many people that exclusively use their changing table...nothing wrong with either way, IMO, as long as it's clean and it works for the person!

  • I agree on the changing table thing with you but we got a dresser with a pad on top. My DH just had a spinal fusion surgery less than 6 months ago and has a difficult time bending still. He needed something at waist height.

She is still early. Give the girl time to realize how quickly things cost and add up.

  • She doesn't sound snotty to me.

  • Her post didn't sound too snotty or stuck up. I've seen very similar posts from tons of ladies on this website. Now if she would have called them trashy or something perhaps it would be more bratty. I've seen FAR worse on these boards lol.

I know that changing tables are unnecessary, but some people feel otherwise. As for her not wanting hand-me-downs that's on her. I think it's silly not to accept stuff as long as it's in good condition. Though I've been a hand-me-down person all my life, and I love the thought of saving money wherever I can!

I think all people with changing tables only use them at home. It's an awfully big item to fit into your diaper bag, LOL. Wink

  • I don't think it's snotty--it's not like preferring to have a changing table necessarily has anything to do with spending a lot of money.  We found ours for $10 at a consignment sale.

Ditto. I'm looking for a dresser to use for this exact purpose. I don't think that's unreasonable. You need a dresser anyway (in time), so why not throw a pad on top of it and call it a changing table?  Save my back a few deep bends now and then anyway. :)  Everyone has their opinion.

  • To me, it sounded like her post was more about getting annoyed at people pushing their opinions and stuff on her. She wants a change table/dresser and she's being told not too.  She wants to get her own stuff and her brother wants her to pay the same $ to ship all his stuff to her.

    I would get annoyed too.
