MoCo moms - where did you deliver/who is your OB/GYN?

I delivered DS at Sibley, but if we have another child I would prefer to be at a hospital closer to home (we live in Glenmont). It's almost time for my annual appt. so I thought now would be a good time to make the switch. Can you recommend your OB/GYN, and also let me know what hospital they are affiliated with?

I have UniCare insurance, if it makes a difference. Thanks!

I go to Capital Women's Care on Shady Grove Rd. and delivered at Holy Cross. We were supposed to deliver at Shady Grove, but DS decided to come 2 months early (SURPRISE!!) and the OB on call said to go to Holy Cross. We felt very well taken care of and the nursing staff was very kind and helpful. I was only in an L&D room for 20 minutes while they prepped me for my c-section, but the room I was in was HUGE. I thought the ones we saw on our SGH tour were kind of small.

I go to Capital Women's Care on Lockwood Dr. in Silver Spring. My doctors were wonderful and they all have priviledges at Holy Cross. I had a great experience with my c-section and recovery there. The nurses took great care of me and were very helpful about answering questions about the baby, breastfeeding, etc.

I got to the Capital Women's Care that is attached to Holy Cross Hospital on Forest Glen Road. They have 4 OBs and 2 midwives (not sure if they deliver or not...that was not what I was interested in). They took great care of me and I really liked the practice. They have 2 u/s machines in the office and since they are attached to the hospital, its very convenient if you have to go there for additional testing or to go to L&D. Obviously, I also delivered at HC and I loved it there. They took great care of us and Jacob ended up being in the NICU for a few days. They have a Level III NICU so they will take great care of your little one, God forbid he/she should need that care.

We went to Capital Woman's Care on Georgia. My favorite docs there were Drs. Tyau and Lizardo, but, we delivered with Dr. Sine (most people in the practice seem to like her the best - but, she wasn't my favorite...)

I also liked Dr. Resta, but, I don't know if he delivers babies? I had an annual appt with him.

They deliver at Holy Cross.

Ditto this. FYI, the midwives are not allowed to deliver at HC. I really like Dr. DeQuattro (she delivered me) and Sheila Bennett, one of the midwives. Dr. Norman and Dr. Coates were also good; I wasn't a fan of Dr. Ein. They do try to get you through all of the doctors during your pregnancy since you won't know who will be on call when you deliver. Oh, and one of the u/s machines is 3D :-)

I go to Capital Women's Care, Drs. J. Apgar and R. Margolis. They are on Fernwood Drive and SHady Grove. They deliver at Shady Grove.

We are in Clarksburg and I deliever at INOVA FFX. I was willing to travel for the best and they did not let us down.

I'm the odd man out, but I go to OBGYN Associates, in the physician's building attached to HC. I've really liked all of the docs I've seen, but my doc now is Dr. Behram and Dr. Kator delivered C. Both very friendly, professional women with kids of their own. I delivered at HC and have no complaints. The L&D rooms are huge!
