You said your mom made these every NY day.  Do you have a recipe for it? I looked online and can't find anything, but I have two bags in my pantry that I bought thinking it would be easier to cook.

    She actually just boils them with salt and pepper until they are soft. Nothing too fancy.

    Well that's easy enough.

    I have a friend on FB who just posted a status update saying she was having ham, cabbage, black eyed peas etc for dinner.  Thought that was kinda funny.
