breast pump question from PgAler

i'm registering at target and trying to choose between the lansinoh double electric pump and the first years miPump double pump. anyone have experience with either of those? the first years one is a lot cheaper, but i'm wondering if it is worth it to just put on the more expensive one.  (by the way i'm not planning on opening it until after baby is born and i make sure i have no milk problems since i have heard of girls who opened and cleaned theirs and then couldnt use them! i know i will need one if we are sucessful at breast feeding though because i will have to go back to work after 6 weeks.)  thanks for any input!

  • Definitely Lansinoh. Have heard nothing but bad things about First Years pumps!

  • I seconed the Lansinoh.  The Lansinoh is the same pump as the Ameda Purely Yours just without the travel bag.  I have the Ameda and love it.  Check with insurance because some insurances cover breast pumps but it would have to bought from a medical supply store (usually at the hospital) so a pump bought at Target wouldn't be covered.  It is worth checking into.
