Ergo for 30 pounder??

my son is 29 lbs and 35 inches at 18 months.  is he too big and heavy for an ergo?  i should have bought one ages ago, but never got around to it.

has anyone introduced an older baby to an ergo?  did they like it?

  • A friend of mine carries her 40ish pound three year old in the Ergo still, while they go hiking in places like Ecuador. She's 5'0 and maybe 100 pounds.

I definitely think it's possible :) Obviously, she uses the back carry with him.

  • Yep! I was just given an Ergo to use with both JD and the new baby and it says "up to 40 pounds".... I haven't tried it out yet but everyone tells me it's quite comfortable!

  • DS is just under 30 lbs and he fits in it nicely. We used it a lot during all of the holiday parades and things this past month.
