Going to other boards is so interesting...

I posted on the MM board for advice on where to count the money for DD's new mattress since we're getting it earlier than originally planned.

I explained why it was a last minute purchase (she's sleeping horribly and we wanted to see if one of us sleeping in her room would help her sleep better and determine whether she just needed to adjust to being in her own room).   Well, a few people "encouraged" me not to sleep in her room because it starts a bad habit. 

Totally not the type of advice I'm used to getting from here.  If we were any other parents and our situation would have been different (i.e. not sharing a bed and/or room for the past year) then that advice would probably be good.  But it just isn't the approach we have taken and I'm personally not up for anymore nights like the ones we had before.  Being up at least every hour with a good deal of that trying to comfort an inconsolable baby is not good for any of us.  I'd rather ease into all this gradually.

Anyway, thanks ladies for being who you are!

    I'm tired of that advice. DS comes into bed with us in the middle of the night. It works for us, so get over it people. You do what you KNOW is best for Mady and yourself. ;0)

    It doesn't offend me.  I totally recognize that others just have different parenting styles.  It's just amazing how much of a bubble we're in on this board and I forget it sometimes!

    LOL, true.  It's so hard to go on a board like that where you're not a regular too and have to explain everything just to give them as complete a picture as possible.  Inevitably something is lost and it can sometimes blow up in your face.
