Fun post: 10 years ago

DH and I just went to dinner (yes, I know it's early) and talked about 10 years ago what we were doing for 2000.

I was 18, in Syracuse, NY with my BFF at a party at someones house I didn't know. We watched the ball drop, set off fireworks and we had a girlie slumber party at her house after with some other friends.

The next day we went to a concert and DH's band played. We didn't know each other back then, but it's awesome to think that the first day of the new Millenium we were in the same room.

Where were you 10 years ago tonight?

Hmmm, I don't remember! It was my second year of undergrad, and I think that year might have been a bust. I know that the last two years of undergrad, I was out with friends, clubbing somewhere and then stayed in a hotel (within walking distance) afterwards.

Ah, the "glory days" . . .

I was a sr. in high school. I had just had my wisdom teeth cut out and was having a really bad time with them. DH and I hadn't been dating all that long and we were supposed to go to a friends' party, but I was soooooooo sick. (Like puking blood sick----I had a tooth in my sinus cavity and one turned the wrong way that broke off in my jaw bone and they had to dig it out---I was in terrible shape!!!)

So.......dh took care of me on the couch at my parents' house....... We watched the ball drop while he rubbed my back and took care of swollen-jaw and bruised face, me.

At midnight he kissed me and said, "I think I'm falling in love with you"......

That was the beginning of US!!!!!

(I had forgotten, thanks Kelz for reminding me!!)

I was 11... I think my parents had the party at our house that year. Pretty sure... There were little poppers and champagne (which I didn't have of course)... My dad is in telecommunications so there were a lot of nerdy people there talking about Y2K... boy were they disappointed when the world didn't end.

I was partying with my 2 college roommates in downtown Ft Lauderdale.

Good times.

My best memory is walking around outside with a champagne bottle that I finagled out of a bartender at some bar.

10 years ago I was 17, I was a senior in HS and I think I was at some lame house party. It's crazy, I can't beleive 10 years have gone bye

I was with my then on again/off again bf in DC. We went to an awesome party somewhere and both went home with someone else. I'm much more settled now. Happy 2010!

Incidentally, I was happy to find (when I accidentally Myspace stalked him) that he married a very unfortunate looking FH.

I believe I was dating a Marine and he drove all night in a snow storm just to be with me. Which was super sweet.

But he was young and boy was he hairy! When he was naked it looked like he was wearing furry, ass-less chaps.

Dude. I remember EXACTLY what I was doing 10 years ago on NYE. . .

I was sitting alone in my apartment drinking beer and eating my favorite flavor of Ben & Jerry's (Wavy Gravy. It's in the flavor graveyard now. Sniffle sniffle), thinking how sad I was because my stupid ex dumped me right before NYE. Then I believe there might have been vodka and some oregano or something. . .

It gets hazy.

I was 14, and a freshman in high school, so I thought I was super cool and my friends and I tried to throw a "grown up party." Massive fail. We just acted like a bunch of idiots. Which, actually doesn't sound much different that all my friends at last year's NYE lol.

I was working in my aunt and uncle resturant, and I can remember every hour watching different cities all over the world bringing in the new millenium. I had just moved to NJ, didn't know anyone, and after work I went home (to my Grandma's house) and brought in the new millenium with her. It was actually the begining of my new, wonderful life!
