DS just had his 3rd surgery yesterday. Shunt revision.
He is doing really well. His neurosurgeon came in from his vacation at the last minute to do the procedure himself when he heard what was going on. The tube was blocked and the hydrocephalus came on super fast.
I won't bore anybody with details (unless they want them of course) but the scans we took on xmas eve were drastically different from the scans on Monday and needless to say it was not a stomach virus making him projectile vomit!
Not sure if it is because it is his third surgery or what but he tolerated the anesthesia really well this time. He is already home and playing like crazy and sleeping like normal so far! We will see if it takes him 2 weeks to readjust like it usually does
Just wanted to say that if anyone else is dealing with this or surgery in general I will be around far more often than I have been to offer support and comfort to anyone that has questions! Though I really hope no one else's DC has to go through any of this, ever!
Re: So I'm exhausted
SK8, I am SO sorry you are going through this yet again. I was hoping for a January removal for you guys!!
Please let me know if there is anything I can do! I'm always around, so give me a buzz. We need to catch up anyhow!!
Thanks ladies
And SWM I miss you too! I will need to page you on 6-12 more often since we are on the same board for just a little while longer together!! We have lots of catching up to do!
