So I've changed my last name just enough to provide anonymity but not enough to change the way this would sound....

Ann (or Anne) Ansalmont

DH hopped on the Ann/Anne bandwagon b/c both our mothers have Ann as their middle names. I love the name itself, but I'm not sure how I feel about it since its also the first sylable of our last name...

Thoughts?

Our other agreed name at the moment is Julia but I know DH leans toward Ann....

I love it but I'd spell it with an 'e'.

If you know Anne of Green Gables at all this will make sense to you:

Print out A-N-N and that looks absolutely dreadful. But Anne with an 'e' is quite distinguished.

With your last name I like Julia more. Anne is lovely and underused, but I don't think it sounds good with your last name. Julia is beautiful and sounds wonderful with your last name.
