I forgot how tedious it was. Since DH isn't home today I'm working on finishing up the handmade stuff I didn't get to finish from our crazy night of taking DS to the ER.
compared to machine sewing, yes! But I was never very good at machine embroidery (and I don't see myself getting a fancy machine for it) so it's hand embroidery for any kind of embellishment I do. It brings me back to my school days where we made a sampler of all the stitches on Aida cloth... I just like looking at all the pretty floss colors!
Now that's a lost art! Hand embroidery! I'd have to find some major tutorials to do that.
I am so NOT crafty but I love to hand embroider. Actually my mom came to visit and found this baby blanket I had started on for a friend in high school. I never finished it. I've been going wild all week working on it as it's really intricate. I use the washable tailor's markers to do my designs and then basically trace with the embroidery thread. When I'm finished I wash on gentle and my marker lines disappear.
