The most "inappropriate" place I've seen a baby was at a concert. Normally babies at concerts don't phase me, but this one did. It was at a small local venue (band was The John Popper Project [john popper of Blues Travelers fame]). The people with the baby had her laying on the front part of the STAGE. While the band was playing! What's even more remarkable was that she stayed asleep the whole concert while laying on said stage.

True - I guess you are behind most speakers, but I'd be terrified that she'd get stepped on, fall off or be around cords. I haven't been to a real popular music concert in years, though.

I took DD to a concert when she was 10 mos, but it was Ani Difranco and it was an outdoor venue and she was in an Ergo or on my lap the entire time. They gave us VIP passes too, so we were seated above the stage.
DH wanted to bring her to Springsteen a few months later, but I drew the line at that. Too loud!
