mom got pulled over for speeding with DS in the car

i can't decide if i want to be pissed or not. maybe i am too tired to care. she was going 39 in a 30. i don't ever go more than 5 over (maybe 7 on the interstate unless i'm passing) with him in the car.

she told me she looked back to see how he was doing (and i yelled at her never to do that again, yes probably an overreaction), and there was a cop.

would you be mad?

Hmm, honestly, I think it was an accident and it isn't something to get upset about unless she speeds on a regular basis. Going 9 over isn't that uncommon, and also, she was going 39 in a 30, not 79 in a 70, which would be more upsetting to me I think...more of a dangerous speed. I bet it was a wake-up call for her though!

I don't think I'd be mad, if she was going 60 in a 30 or something like that I'd be pissed, but 9 over it's really that big of a deal IMO.

It happens. Just because you drive over the speed limit doesn't necessarily mean you are driving recklessly.

i'd be more annoyed and have more of a problem with the looking back things than the speeding. i have a speed alert thing i can set up in my care and i use it when i drive with dd, but under normal circumstances i go a good 5-10 over the speed limit.

First, if it were my mom, I'd be shocked she was actually driving normally, instead of going so slow that blind senior citizens pass her by. Second, I wouldn't be too mad. I'm so guilty of doing 10 (ahem or more) over alllll the time.

That's no ok. Too much is going on. Here the speed limit is 20.

If it was 74 in a 65 that is a lot different than 39 in a 30 imo. I wouldn't be mad. I wouldn't feel like her life was in danger.

No it wouldn't bother me, and I wouldn't be upset. I know my mom is an excellent driver. Now DH that is a diffrent story because I don't feel like he is that safe of a driver.

Eh, I'm usually doing 10 over if the speed limit is 40 or less. With DH, it's usual, mostly because he's been trained and had to drive over 100 mph on sooooooooo many occasions. But here, that's usually the way the traffic flows. I wouldn't be upset.
