TTC After a Loss

drinking

I think after the year I've had I deserved to get hammered....unfort though I know i can be a bit emotional when i get hammered and although I think I am doing ok at this point with our loss I don't want to ruin new years by becoming a blubbering idiot....damn my emotional self! Anyone else have this problem when they have a few more drinks then normal? I tend to have this problem with kaluah

Re: drinking

  • Yeah, I need to drink to survive my ILs visit, but I need to keep it in check big-time and never get past "just a bit tipsy" or i might tell SIL what a damn FH she is.

  • I know the feeling. The week after our loss we went to a wedding. The night before the wedding I got drunk and started bawling. It was the worst cry ever. I couldn't stop and eventually just passed out. DH tried to comfort me but I just kept howling. I felt like a dumba$$ the next morning.
  • Sometimes - but I don't care tonight - i plan to get very drunk:)
  • I used to hold my alcohol really well. But ever since the m/c I get weepy if I have more than 2-3 glasses of wine.

  • I would love to drink and get sloppy tonight. But I can't drink anymore. All because I drank a whole fifth of rum two Halloween's ago. Alcohol makes me gag now. It's such a shame too.....

  • I've pretty much already gotten drunk and weepy (at some point in the last five months) around everyone I will be around tonight so I am not too concerned - nothing they haven't seen before, haha.  But I am going to lay off the wine and liquor and only drink beer, that should help.

  • yes i definitely get emotional when i drink.  it's those bottled up emotions that start pouring out.  hopefully they'll stay put tonight although if i start thinkg about everything that happened i'm sure they are bound to come out.

This! I'm glad it will only be close friends and some family. I'm getting hammered. I just hope I don't end up blubbering about what a d-bag 2009 has been at midnight.
