playtex drop ins?

hi girls- i was dead set on dr browns bottles but we just bought a house. the kitchen is going to be redone so i wont have a dishwasher for a few months. I cant be cleaning bottles with 2 babies... has anyone used the playtex drop ins? how are they?

Re: playtex drop ins?

  • I haven't had my twins yet, but I am planning on using them for the sheer convenience of not having to wash tons of little bottle parts. Also, they have a milk storage system that works with my pump (medela)

I hope my twins take to the bottles! I have heard lots of good things about these bottles.

  • me too. i hope mine like them too just for the convience of no cleaning.. when are you due?
  • We use them.  It's great not having to put the bottles in the dishwasher everytime or worry about sterilizing stuff.  And the drop ins really seem to keep the air out of our boys' tummies.  They rarely spit up and I think the bottles are a big part of that.
  • Im using the playtex drop ins with Joshua when I supplement with breastmilk or formula and I love them.  I just wash the nipple and ring with hot water and then stick it in our germ guardian (which I LOVE by the way) and Im done. So nice!

  • Yes, I have used them. They are ok only problem is sometimes milk still will get on the ring part from the nipple which then gets milk on the top part of the bottle rim. I usually ended up washing every time b/c of that reason. I guess you could always just rinse them off really good and let air dry between uses. Really they weren't that great and of course you have to buy the new drop ins so it conitnues to cost you money over time.
  • LaurenVal - I am technically due 3/20, but Dr. thinks sometime in the next 3-6 weeks ( 32-35 wks) How about you?

RE: drop-ins, I bought 2 3-pack setsof the 4oz size, and 100 liners to start off the first few days - just to make sure they take to them, in addition to buying the milk/pump kit. If they take to them, I think we need about 8 bottles per baby. I am going to attempt to pump and feed them both at the same time or one on the boob and one one the bottle - switching each feeding - this is my "ideal" who knows what will really go down!!!
