how much milk does DC drink?

I'm starting to think that DS drinks too much!   He won't drink water or juice...milk is the only thing he'll drink.   I've been trying to get him to drink water for months but he rarely will.   He will take a couple sips from a regular cup and that's it.

I just opened a new gallon of milk yesterday at lunchtime and half of it's gone!    I do have 16 oz in the travel containers from yesterday but still that's a lot of milk to drink in 24 hours!   He's already had 3 cups this morning!   I usually put around 6 oz in his cup.

It isn't interferring with his eating.   He is a great eater!

Re: how much milk does DC drink?

  • I aim for 16 ounces, but DD usually only drinks 12-14 day. She just is not a big milk fan. She drinks a TON of water instead.

  • i quit counting ounces a while ago.

he gets milk with breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  about 1/2 - a full sippy each time.

  • I would say he gets around 12-16 oz a day on average, but some days I'm lucky to get 6 oz in him.

  • yikes....looks like I need to enroll DS in Milk Drinkers Anonymous...I had a feeling he was drinking way too much!    He's getting around 30 oz a day!   How do I stop this milk addiction, especially since he won't drink anything else!

  • My son drinks 20-30 oz a day but is super skinny ( 23 pounds!!!) and is a finicky eater so he needs the calories. If your guy is a good eater then I would cut back.
  • We started to cut DD back because she was drinking too much.  We give 3 cups of milk a day, around meals.  So at most it is 30oz, depending on the size cup we use.  I would say she used to drink at least another 10oz above that.  If it is breakfast and she has drank her cup already then she gets water or very watered down juice, there really aren't choices.
  • none! hasnt touched it in a year. he is 2 1/2. eats a ton of cheese and yogurt though (and vitamins)
