2nd Trimester

How big do they think I'm gonna get?

So I finally outgrew my scrubs and ordered some maternity scrubs online.  I was so excited to try them on this morning!  Pants fit great - so comfy!  But the top is big enough for DH and I to both fit inside!  It looks like I'm wearing a tablecloth!  I had to squeeze into my old non-maternity scrub top cuz at least that looks better... but I can't imagine myself ever filling out that scrub top.  Jeez!!!

  • LOL. Sorry to giggle but I can picture you and DH squeezing into it.  Scrubs are cut really square so it sounds like instead of making room for your bump, they just cut the squares bigger.  That stinks Can you return it?

  • I almost bought maternity scrubs when I was pregnant with DD but decided just to buy a size up with the ties in the back.  It stinks though trying to fit into scrub tops that aren't sized right.  If they are too small everything falls out of your pockets every time you bend over and if they are too big you look like a big house.  I like to also just wear maternity t-shirts with a scrub jacket over them.  That way you still have your pockets but the t-shirt will grow with you.

I already returned the large ones cuz they seemed too big... these are "Flex-I-Bles" and have elastic sides that can stretch, so I figured they'd be the most form fitting at first.  Guess I was wrong!  I'll probably start wearing maternity t-shirts that fit me til I can fill out the scrub top a little bit more.  Well, at least the pants are comfortable!

  • Do they sell any with ties (like right under the boob area) to help keep the shape of the shirt and that way it will grow with you??

These have ties under the boobs and I tried tightening those... looks like they're more for decoration than function.  I was considering pinning the sides in the back just to take it in a little bit, but I'm the world's worst seamstress so I'll see if my mom can help me out.

  • I've just been wearing a larger size scrub top with ties, or maternity t-shirts with my scrub pants, and that has worked out great for me. I also wear a scrub jacket everyday, which helps too. I see you're 16 weeks-ish and if I may say that while the maternity scub tops probably do suck, there will come a time when you'll be grateful for extra fabric anywhere you can get it. I'm sure there are ladies in the 30 week range who might read this and say to me: "Just wait!" There was a day that I couldn't imagine fitting into my maternity clothes, and now I'm growing out of some of them!
