3rd Trimester

Registry

Okay this may be a dumb question, but whatever. For those of you that registered did you register for baby clothes? I know most of the time a lot of the items that you get at a baby shower are clothes, but what about just the basics, like the short sleeved white onesies? I have a couple of clothing items on my registry, but I'm not sure if I should keep them on there or not.

Re: Registry

  • I didn't register for clothes because we were given a lot of hand-me-downs and purchased a lot at yard sales.  We ended up having an overload of clothing and didn't want to get anymore.

We ended up getting ten or so items of clothing anyway.  If you find you need the stuff, I'd definitely register for it though!

  • You can always leave them on. If you end up getting some clothes off your registry you can return the items that were purchased from the registry for something else.
  • We currently have some clothes bought for him, but we definitely need a ton more. I think I'll just keep the basics on there. If he would come today we would be screwed though because basically all we have is the crib and some clothes. lol. I need to get my a** in gear and start getting things done.

  • I put some basics on there like onesies and sleepers and such. Mainly, I did it because I wanted people to know what colors to get. My family tends to get me purple colored stuff, and I absolutely refuse to put my child in purple (it reminds me of Barney...the dinosaur)
  • i registered for some basics and of course no one bought me anything from it but i ended up getting tons of clothes at my shower, not to mention a lot of hand me downs.  it doesnt hurt to register for clothing though
  • Thanks girls! I'm definitely going to keep the clothing that I have on the registry there. If I don't get it no big deal. Also, I know some places offer a discount for the items that you didn't get on your registry. I know BRU does, but do any of you know if Walmart does?

  • I didn't register for any clothes, and ended up with packages and packages of onesies. I have onesies for DAYS. Get them after your shower if you don't get enough.

  • I did not register for clothing items.  But that is because a lot of people that I know automatically buy clothes.  My mom also went clothing crazy when she found out the gender and so now I literally have a closet full of clothes.
  • The only clothes I registered for were zip sleepers because I was told they are much easier for middle of the night changings.

  • I didn't register for clothes at all. I knew my friends and family would end up getting clothes on their own if they wanted. Most of the people bought from our registry and then added an outfit or two to their gift.

  • The only clothes I registered for were packages of white onesies and we didn't get ANY.  We did however, get so many actual outfits that I can barely close his dresser drawers anymore!  We only got maybe 20 things off of our registry, and the rest were surprises.  I didn't return a darn thing though...having nothing to start with, I was so grateful to get anything at all!!!  It's easy enough to get everything else myself.

  • We did, for fun.  Most people will just get you the clothes that they think are cute, though. :)

SO true... don't want to sound ungrateful but omg some of things we got.  i registered for some clothing hoping that people would see our style.  but we still have drawers filled with puppy dogs and baseball clothes.  ugh. ):
  • We're team green, so I didn't register for clothes. Well, I did put 2 packs of long-sleeved white onesies and some socks on the registry, but nothing else. I figure the onesies will get baby through the first week or two, and we will probably be given lots of clothes after the baby is born (our family usually does that). We'll have plenty of time to shop for clothes later, having a full wardrobe ahead of time isn't a necessity, imo.

  • I did. How can you see all those cute clothes and not want to register for them?

  • We registered for a few basics, white long sleeved t-shirts (the ones with the little hand covers on them) and some white short and long sleeved onsies. We did add one or two other things that were cute but thats it.

  • I didn't register for any clothing and still ended up with a fully stocked closet for LO.
  • I didnt register for any clothes and most of what i got was clothing. I would suggest that you keep the basic things (i.e. white onesies) on your registry but dont register for outfits, you'll most likely get tons.
