2nd Trimester

Self tanning cream safe?

I feel soooo pasty white this time of year, does anyone happen to know if self tanners are safe to use while pregnant?

Re: Self tanning cream safe?

  • I personally don't see why not.  You're not eating it.  However, other people will probably disagree.

  • Hmm I cant remember my OBs opinion on it from last time, but I know Ive read that since it penetrates the skin, its a no-no, same with hair remover creams.

I probably wouldnt bother, too much effort. Embrace the pastiness!

  • My OB said no in the first trimester, but after that, okayed it for occasional use...like once before a wedding.  I think I've heard that it doesn't get absorbed beyond a few layers of skin, but there's not been a lot of testing on it for use during pregnancy, obviously.  Maybe try a bronzer instead?
