There is a couple that we spend time with occasionally who have a little boy who was born 3 days before Eva. We see them maybe 6 times a year. This year the mom decided to get Eva (and another little boy we also hang out with) a subscription to High Five magazine. We normally don't exchange gifts with them and even if we did, I don't think I could do something that pricey. We got together last night for a play date and so as a thank you, I had Eva draw a picture for the little guy and I made a crayon roll for him. When we arrived, she had a birthday present waiting for Eva- a cute purse and an outfit from the Gap. I didn't get her little guy anything for his birthday. I felt so bad. Should I go and get him a birthday present now too? Or should I just send a thank you and hopefully it will break the cycle of getting gifts for each other's kids?
Re: WWYD- gift giving dilemma
Hmmm...I prob would have told him that She drew him a pic for his bday and then gave him the crayon roll up as a christmas gift. You know? Since you had 2 things, just kinda split them up on the spot!!
OR you could just buy him a bday card and have her make him something and mail it?! OR just a thank you card and help her "write" in it...?
