We have a wedding to go to May 22nd...Im due June 18th Which would make me 36 weeks. The wedding is a good 3 hours away. DH still wants to go but im reluctant to. Do you think I should wait it out and see or not go? The hard part is that my family also lives about an hour north...4 hours away. they plan on having a shower for me there and asked when i would prefer it...I guess. maybe 25-30 weeks? Any suggestions and advice would help! TIA

    I would do the shower in the time frame you mentioned.  The wedding I would proably skip.  First, what if you go into labor while you are there?  Second, I think a 3 hour car ride at 36 weeks would be terribly uncomfortable.  Then you have the 3 hour ride to look forward to coming home!

    I would go to the wedding but that is just me.

    We actually went on vacation 4 hours away as a family when I was 34 weeks with DD (had her at 36 weeks but she was also my 2nd in about a year). DS didn't come until 41+ weeks (my first).

    As long as I could get out and pee I was good to go.

    I wouldn't say yes or no right now. I'd wait to see how you are feeling further along.

    Normally i would really want to go but im not a fan of the bride. DH still really wants to go..hes good freinds with the groom but cant stand her either! alot of our millitary friends will be there tho...oh well, we'll see

    When I was PG with my first two kids we lived in Northern New Hampshire.  With my second I attended a wedding in Boston (a good 3 hours away) at 36 weeks exactly. It was no big deal.  I would say as long as your DR gives you the go ahead you are safe to travel until 36 weeks.

    Some insurance companies won't pay for labor at another hopsital if you go more than 150 miles away from your home. I wouldn't do it.

    Even though chances are you would be fine - I personally would not go because the chance is there that  you could go into labour and I wouldn't want  to be that far away from home...
