how do you do it when the weather calls for coats? is your coat big enough to put baby in the carrier and then put the coat over you guys? (for a front carry obviously). just wondering how this works or if you babywear less in the colder months or if you just wait till you get inside a place where it's warmer and you can take your coat off to put on the carrier?
Re: baby wearing in winter
Usually I just wore a coat big enough to fit around both of us.
I'm really interested in the Peekaru for this time around, though.
awesome! so you can wear your coat over still if it's that cold out but don't have to worry so much about zipping or extra blankets?
and holy crap i just realized you can wear it with baby on your back too!! okay that's cool. :-D

This is A right before I took N out into the snow to play a couple of weeks ago. It was in the teens and we were out for probably an hour and a half. She snoozed peacefully the whole time and was warm as toast when we came in and I took her out.
I took her out much like this when we were in MN as well and were going to go on a sleigh ride near my inlaws house. It was easily in the single digits and windy. I didn't have the jacket with us so I put her in two tops and brought a blanket that I kept over my front that time. She did just fine then too. I never found myself getting cold either.
She's wearing a long sleeved shirt and the jacket, baby legs, socks and a pair of fleece pants. If the jacket hadn't had a big fleecy hood I'd have put a hat on her.
