2nd Trimester

If you wear a size 11 shoe, come on in!

I wear a size 11, and am just wondering what the heck I'm going to do when my feet swell up to where they can't fit in my shoes anymore.  Most girls I figure just go a size up/wider....but it is dam hard to find a size 12 shoe!  Its not like its summer and we can get away with flip flops.

I live in Wisconsin so chances are their will be snow on the ground for most of my pregnancy.   My husband said he'll get me some snow shoes to wear (like, the kind you use to go cross country sking...such a funny guy!) .

Just wondering if this thought is going through anyone elses head.   I work at a bank and have to wear nice shoes and am dreading the swollen feet that are most likely going to show up later on.

  • Wow, crap - hadn't even thought of it! I normally wear a size 10 (sometimes 11 depending on the shoe) so I'm in a similar boat. I'm just hoping my feet don't swell until its warmer and I can wear sandals!

  • I wear a size 10 and have purchased men's sneakers before, just because I like the colors better.  Maybe you could find a comfy pair of men's sporty shoes/sneakers to wear around?  As for dressy shoes, I have no idea.

  • My feet aren't that big, but I'd suggest looking now for a SLIP ON shoe in a wide width.  I already bought a pair I can wear to work :-)

  • I wear a size 11 and I'm already starting to swell. I'm in NH and I just deal with the cold and wear my flip-flops anyways :)
  • Perfect post! I about had a heart attack last night when I was reading my weekly pregnancy update and they said my feet would grow. Ummmm... I wear a size 11 too.. and they don't make 11 and 1/2's.. so, I would be wearing a 12? Hellllloooo clown shoes! Nordstroms has a great selection of size 12s by the way. But, really.. I read that they don't really go back down a size. Hell, if I had known this, I wouldn't have gotten pregnant. Okay.. okay.. not really... but a 12!?!  Lord help me!

  • I was an 11 before I got pregnant and haven't noticed too much swelling in my feet yet - unlike the rest of me :-)

I bought a few pairs of ballet slippers from old navy that seem to have some give to them so they're always comfy.

  • I have been a size 10 since grade school and still am even after having dd. I don't remember if my feet swelled while pregnant before because it was 16 years ago!
