gender at 16 weeks?

Hey gals!  I'm new on this board, and was just wondering how many of you (or how likely it would be) to find out the gender at your 16 week appointment?  I've heard you can find out, but is it all that accurate?

    I found out at 15 weeks 3 days. It has been confirmed 3 times since. Though I went to a fun out of pocket place not the doctors office.

    Do you know for sure that you are getting an u/s at your 16 week apt? Most don't and if you do they might not check for fear of not being certain.

    Its common.  The tech will tell you if they are unsure of their guess.

    We get u/s all the time (high risk/multiples) and they guessed at 11 and 12w.  But, we aren't banking on anything yet.  They said they will know better at our 14 or 16w u/s.

    I found out it was very obviously a boy at 15 weeks 5 days

    Oh & I was not schedeled for an ultra sound, my midwife sent me to have a "hush hush" free s/o so we would know by christmas, otherwise we would not of have a s/o at the 16 week

    I'm not high risk, but I do get routine ultrasounds at each appointment here.  Japan is spoiling us!  We have several people who are making us baby blankets, clothes, etc and are as anxious to know as we are. Smile

    We found out at 16 and it was confirmed at 22. But it was 100% at 16 weeks. You could see every detail of his boy parts.

    We found out at 15 weeks. Baby happened to be jumping about and spreading his legs.  We had our ultra sound done at 21 weeks and the same was confirmed.  Good luck!

    Found out here at 12 weeks, 6 days.  Has been confirmed three times since!

    We found out at 17 weeks and it has been confirmed three times since then.

    Mine is scheduled for January 28th. I'll be 20weeks and 4 days.

    I had a CVS with both DS and this pregnancy at 11+weeks. I asked both times for a guesses from the doctors. Both times and different doctors their guess was correct and confirmed by genetic results a few days later. So I would guess at 16 weeks with a good ultrasound machine it is possible but I would not trust it 100% until later.
