Baby shower at 27/28 weeks to early?

Hi Ladies,

DH and I were thinking about having a baby shower in DH's hometown. His parents have a crazy travel schedule and suggested beginning of March, which will be about 27/28 weeks. Is that too early? WDYT??

  • I think that's fine.  I am having mine at about 30 weeks or so.  I would rather have mine earlier so I have more time to buy anything I don't get, and set up everything while I still have some energy left.

    This.

I told my mother I would like to have mine around 28-32 weeks.  Don't want to be too large to enjoy everything.  lol

  • I think thats a good time. Thats when i am having mine(or around then) . . in January becasue i am high-risk and will have apps. every week starting feb 1st and i will be too exhausted to attend my own baby shower.
  • I had one at 16 weeks.  No time is too early.
  • I had my first with my dd at around 28 weeks since I had to travel 6 hours.  It was great!  I had so much time to see what I got, get organized, figure out what I needed, etc.
  • I think you can have it whenever you want!

Mine is going to be at just a couple days over 27 weeks.

  • I'm having mine between 24 and 26 weeks because I'm flying to the States for it and don't want to do that long flight (9 hours on the long flight plus the two connecting flights before and after) when I'm bigger and uncomfortable or risk having something go wrong over the Atlantic.
  • I just had mine this past weekend (24 weeks)....My husband and I flew "home" to my parents and we all knew it would most likely be my last trip before baby. I honestly love that it was early because I now know what else I need and have plenty of time to prepare for LO's arrival.
  • thanks for all the responses!
  • I don't think it's a big deal at all.

  • Im having mine at 24weeks because it is the only time i can get leave to go home.....
