This. Who has like 6 full glasses of red wine in front of them at one time?
Some valid points, but I also know of people who sit at the bar area of a restaurant and have kids. I don't have a problem with a family at Outback dining at the bar if they get seats there while everyone else waits an hour for a table.
I had acquaintances who would bring their baby to a bar. Real bars, out late at night. They put earplugs in his ears and put him in his car seat. He'd sleep most of the time.

My DH and I sat at a bar last night with our DS while waiting for a table at a restaurant. It did feel a little weird. But I think that is a way different situation than the CL post. I'm suprised that girl was even allowed into the bar with her baby.

We normally eat at the bar when we go to Ruby Tuesday's because you get appetizer discounts at the bar ... and I'm cheap. lol
BUT - I'm also not hanging out getting sloshed with my kid.
We took DS with us to a local bar here because our friend was home visiting on leave from Iraq. It's non-smoking here and you all know that I can't get a babysitter for the life of me. Plus, the friend is like family and deserved to get to see DS. It was his only stop in town and everyone showed up that could make it. Now, when he comes home for trips (since he's stateside again and across the country) we set up breakfast trips if we can. Oh, and he's going to be DD's godfather. So, I guess I'm winning the bad parent of the year award.
Anyway, back to babies IN bars. I have taken DD to bars before, but quiet local bars where I know people. Either it's us picking up takeout or meeting up with someone to get concert tickets or something (like 5 minutes in there) or it's a special event (our friend hosts a Slivovitz festival every year):
I'm suprised that girl was even allowed into the bar with her baby.
Me too, considering DD has been 86'd from all but one bar I've taken her into. None of them were Shangrila (never heard of it, but then, I'm not a bar hopper anymore), but they were all bars with a full menu (we were trying to eat dinner) and it doesn't sound like this is that kind of place....
I did consider bring ds when he was a few months old to my work Christmas party at a NYC bar, but decided not to... he would have been in a sling asleep, but still.
The closest thing to a bar that I have brought either of the kids to is a Cajun place in the neighborhood for dinner. They have bras around the bar and stuff like that, but also great food. My ds yelled,"Mom, they have underwear hanging up! Why -- is it drying?" haha, eff humor.
It's kind of odd that she would put it on craigslist tho!
Re: Anyone seen the baby in a bar craigslist ad?
Oh my!
Those ARE valid points.....
reminds me of the line from "sweet home alabama"
"Look at you, you have a baby... In a bar."?
EXACTLY what I thought!!

I admit, I've had my baby... in a bar.
Oops. I guess the fact that it was non-smoking is an invalid excuse! haha.
We were there for dinner and then just stuck around a bit to chat. Not too long though b/c it got loud.

I'm aware that it could definitely be fake but I still thought it was funny.
And to those that posted about having your baby at a bar - those are all valid baby at a bar scenarios.
Did you ever hear the story about the people who didn't have a sitter and drove drunk to the bar and left their baby in the car?
