2nd Trimester

Getting worried of a loss.

I got my last check up at nine weeks and four days. I am now fifteen weeks and six days. My health insurance comes in early next week so I can go to a doctor then. I really feel as thought something has been wrong with the baby. My bump seems to have gone down, or maybe its my imagination. I am still peeing like crazy, my breasts are still sore, and I do get nauseous. I had a dream that I lost the baby. So of course im finally breaking down. My fiance thinks im being paranoid, which i might be. I don't know if I've missed a symptom telling me something has gone wrong or been wrong with the baby. The baby never showed any movement but many say they have felt no movement around 4 months...

  • Take a deep breath. You are WAY early to be feeling movement (I started feeling around 19 weeks). I had this same gut feeling too, and everything was OK. I think it's natural to worry. That being said - take a deep breath and relax. I'm sure everything is OK. :)

  • Hang in there, I'm sure it's all okay. It can be super nerve wracking and I can understand what you're going through but to me it sounds all right. Bumps come and go and are usually just bloat/water retention that early in the pregnancy, so I wouldn't go off just that. You still have pregnancy symptoms and didn't mention cramping or bleeding, so I'm thinking you and baby are okay!

  • Every woman goes thru this.  Just try to convince yourself that things are ok.  They most likely are.  If you don't have cramping or heavy bleeding, don't worry.  Stay positive and know you're not alone in thinking like this.
  • I bet everything is fine, especially if you haven't had any bleeding or actual signs something is wrong. (A lack of syptoms isn't a "sign" of anything, other than you are lucky... :)

It's still really early, so if there was any movement, it would only feel like little bubbles and you probably wouldn't even notice them. I bet everything is okay! Just hang in there and relax! :)

  • So you haven't been to the doctors for a check up since 9w?  You can rent or buy a dopplar and check for the HB at home to help ease your worries.

I know it's hard, but 99% of the time, everything is fine!

  • Honestly, if your bump went down it as probably changing over from baby bloat to real actual baby bump. At this point your uterus is still pretty low so most women, especially first pregnancy, will still have small bumps. As for movement, the average is 16-22 weeks to feel this for the first time. I am sure you're just fine and overanalzing everything. You still have all of the pregnancy symptoms so try to relax (hard I know) and enjoy each day with your baby. Before you know it you'll be huge and uncomfortable and wishing for it to all be over ;)
  • Thank you ladies. I shouldn't stress. Glad Im not alone, Im just going to wait to see the doctor next week. I need more ladies in my life lol.

  • I'm so sorry that you're worried, and can't get to a Dr. until next week. As pp's said- there are legit reasons for your decrease in bump, and it's early for movement in most women- so everything is *probably* fine. Just an FYI- at 15-16 weeks my breasts stopped being sore, and the peeing and nausea decreased- and this is NORMAL. I did bleed some, and had pain from ligaments stretching as baby grew, but the Dr. says as long as it's not clumpy bleeding, with bad cramps- not to worry excessively. Please keep us posted on how you're doing.
  • Try not to worry, you are in the "am i pregnant" stage where your belly goes up and down (mostly due to bloating) and not having movement yet.

  • I had this same worry last week...Bump got small and that's around 18 weeks.  I mean literally, I looked normal! It was strange.  I had felt no movement and started getting really panicky for a couple days.  19 weeks exactly I felt it and it hasn't stopped since!

Hang in there!  I think it's a "normal" worry.

  • Try not to stress. I know, easier said than done.  I felt the same way. I really didn't have much of any pregnancy symptoms, no morning sickness, no nausea, my boobs weren't sore, etc... I was constantly worrying myself that something was wrong but at each appointment, my LO was doing just fine.  Every woman and every pregnancy is different. What you are experiencing is more than likely normal for you.

This! Try to relax because unnecessary stress isn't good for the baby. Its natural to worry but you need to have faith and focus on what the baby needs - a relaxed and healthy mom :)
