hi ladies,
does anyone know what infections they diagnose through your blood and urine tests at the first appointment?
my first appointment was last week. the nurse called yesterday (i didn't get the message until just now) saying "there's nothing wrong, but you need a perscription for an antibiotic." i will call tomorrow morning, but anyone know what the cause of that could be?
after the first appointment, i was diagnosed (by a regular doctor) with a sinus infection. is there any way they could tell i had a sinus infection from my blood work? or would this be something else?
Re: anyone get a call about needing antibiotic?
you could have had bacteria in your urine. sorry if TMI, but i did. i had an infection and had absolutely no symptoms. OB prescribed an antibiotic and that was that. i got one with DD too...same thing happened. your body does crazy things when you're pg!
I got a call and it was a UTI. I actually ended up needing IV antibiotics because it was a weird, hard to treat type of bacteria.
Just call in the morning and ask what it's for.
Twin boys born too early at 17w4d and 18w2d in February 2010
Transabdominal cerclage placed September 2010
DS born at 35w1d in February 2011
Twin girls born at exactly 36w in February 2013
It could also be for Strep-B...which is just a bacteria in your urine. It's pretty common and harmless to you, but can cause problems with a newborn which is why they screen for it and treat it w/anti-biotics.
I had it in mine...and took the anti-biotics for a week. No biggie.
