Have you ever had ones with blueberry filling? They are fabulous!
I have only had savories. I need to try these fruit filled ones I keep hearing about. Actually I need a genuine dough recipe first so I can just make my own. I didn't get to ask at the church I bought them at today.

Now THAT sounds interesting!
Millies Perogies makes them. My former roommates mother ordered us a huge box full of various perogies and blueberry were my favorite! They are great just thawed eaten cold! I've been told some grocery stores stock them.

Ditto. I've heard of prune, but never any other fruit. Hmmmmm....
When we were in AZ we could only get fruit or meat ones. And since they didn't fit the craving we passed on them. Next time we're out there though we'll give the fruit ones a try.

i have made them - it's a LOT of work for a small amt of pierogies really - which is why they're so expensive when you buy them. we made traditional cabbage ones when we made them. soooo much butter.. sooo yummy though.
i *almost* tried the blueberry ones but didn't. there was a farmstand at home selling them but i was craving the cabbage and dh will only eat the potato and cheese ones cuz he's a wimp so between the two kinds i used up all my money lol..
Lyte I have no problem using a weekend with DH to make a huge batch of these just to stick in the freezer! And the bought ones are so good, but it's only a special meal when there are funds to do it. Tonight was the first batch we've had in months and I placed the order two weeks ago for them. ;-)

i can ask my mom to give me the recipe we used - it was from my 100% polish grandmother. i should get it for my own purposes anyway. :-)

If you do I will love you forever. Okay...I already do...but this would cement it.
Um....let me think about that...HECK YA! My Dh will forever love you as well. There are no pierogi recipes in the family cookbook. So, I don't know if FIL liked them or not and I never got to ask him before he passed away.
Umm I have a recipe. I come from a very seriously Polish family. I tried to make them - big fat FAIL. I give lytedark props for pulling it off. They are haaarrrrrd.
