Coughing

Does anyone know if there is anything we can take or do for coughing? my throat doesnt hurt or anything yet, but I would like to prevent it if at all possible.  I have been eating cough drops like its my freakin job, but it seems that about 20 min after I eat one I am back coughing.  I have been drinking water like crazy and sleeping when I can, but I didnt know if there was anything else (like zinc tablets instead of losenges (sp?)) that was ok that wasnt cold medicine

Re: Coughing

  • I've had a good cough for the past few days as well and my doctor okays Mucinex (not Mucinex DM, just Mucinex, medicinal name is guanifesin). It helped me to get some of the extra phlegm out of my throat and thereby reducing the need for coughing for me.

  • Robitussin is also on my Dr's safe list.  They also say to take Cepacol lozengens instead of cough drops...
