3rd Trimester

Hospital bag question

So I am working on packing my hospital bag and realize I don't have any panties packed. Do I need to pack some to wear at the hospital (I know they give you the mesh panties right after but what about the next day) and do I need some to wear home? I never thought to ask about this at my childbirth class.

Re: Hospital bag question

  • I was advised to bring some that you don't mind ruining to wear home, and just wear the mesh ones in-hospital by my mom friends.

  • The hospital will provide you with their version of a panty. It is ugly and you will chuckle when you see it but trust me, you will love them once you put them on and are bleeding all over the place with a super swollen and sore vajayjay.

Oh and yes, you have an unlimited supply.

A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.

My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • I am packing some specially purchased cheap dark colored granny panties.  If I like the mesh ones I will use them...if I dont I will use these.
  • I agree with pp's. The mesh panties are really good...take some home with you. But if you are feeling like the bleeding is under control, boy shorts a size or so larger than what you would wear normally are pretty comfy as well. I would recommend getting them in black, just in case.
  • Fabulous! Thanks ladies. I knew about the mesh panties just didn't know how long you were supposed to wear them!

  • My friends have told me to just keep asking for more and more of the mesh panties...they liked wearing them and said it was just nice not to be worried about their own underwear.  Like the baby diapers, they said to keep asking for them and putting them in your take home bag...
