IVF Treatment

Out of curiosity, how much does IVF cost? I signed up for extended medical coverage for IVF. My company will cover 80% of treatment up to $30K.

    I haven't completed a cycle where the cost has been billed to my insurance company yet. But our clinic has two options for folks that are OOP. The first is 1 fresh cycle for $7K w/o meds, the second is through AvaMed (shared risk insurance program) and it is $16,100 for three fresh cycles and unlimited FETs.

    Depends on the doctor/clinic.

    My IVF/w ICSI is $11k.  My first RE would have been more like $16k.  The first RE was not all-inclusive, so the ICSI would have been an additional $3k.

    That does not include the meds.  They said meds would run $2-5k.  My meds ended up at $7k.  Luckily, I do have insurance for the meds, so I only paid $1.5k.  If only I had insurance for the IVF...

    It can vary from clinic to clinic. If you are OOP expect to pay anywhere from 10-15k for one cycle. This does not include meds. My meds are costing $1500 this cycle. I have heard meds costing up to $5000.

    Congrats on having coverage!  I'd KILL for medical coverage of any kind!  :)

    I'm sure this depends on what part of the country you live in, but for us, one cycle of IVF with ICSI would have cost $11,500 not including meds, which can be btwn $2-5K depending on your meds & Rx coverage.

    We opted to do shared risk so it's now $22K, but we get up to 6 Fresh IVF attempts & unlimited FETs.

    We have not (and will not be) done IVF but I know that at my clinic one cycle, not including meds or ISCI or anything extra like that is right over $18,000.
