Totally depends on your kiddo and what diapers you're using. I think the NB AIOs would fit easily under a NB size onesie, have no idea about PFs and KL0s yet though...I can tell you in a few weeks :-)
It really does depend on the shape of your kid... but we've been using PFs with duos, KLOs, and thirsties AIOs and he has worn the Gerber NB, Gerber 0-3, and he finally fits into the Circo NB onesies.
depends on the newborn! actually if i was doing it over i would not get nb onesies because I never snapped them anyway. I like the crossover snap-shirts better since when they are newborns you are changing them constantly and don't want the rubbing of the umbilical stump... I'd say nb snapshirts and 3-6 mo onesies...
We used pockets and AIOs and onesies worked for us as sized. I did buy some extenders in case, but we only used they when we wanted to use a onesie we had really out grown. Depends on the baby though. DD was a peanut so she had lots of room.
Re: another onesie and cd question!
Ditto - we used KL0's, and the Carters NB onesies worked for quite awhile on our 8 lb 6 oz-er. Don't get gerber onesies.

She has 1 entire large box of newborn onesies. Her youngest (now 4 months) fit into NB onesies for just 2 weeks! Her son never fit in NB onesies.
So it really does depend on the kid.
