because of their kids getting sick in daycare?
My kids are sick all the time. I mean all the time. They were just put on a second does of antibiotic. It really isn't financially feasible for me to stay home BUT I feel like I'm risking my kids health by exposing them to these germs and then treating them with antibiotics!
Re: Have u stopped working 2 keep ur kids healthy?
what are they sick with that they get antibiotics for all the time? If it's ear infections (which is what Griffin had a lot of his first year) then they do not always need antibiotics - and it's best to wait a few days to see if it will go away on it's own - since most ear infections are not from bacteria- but viruses, which the meds won't do anything for... but can create drug resistent bacteria with over use.
I used to teach kindgergarten and can tell you that the SAH kids were all sick as dogs that first year in school.... so it will happen now or happen when they are 5 y/o.
Hey Loree.. here is my 2 cents... for me a nanny was cheaper than daycare. And there was no freakin way we could get three up and dressed and to daycare before getting to work! LOL Is a nanny an option? Lots of people out there want part time work! Mine were in daycare for 8 weeks and it was a TOTAL nightmare. They were sick about 6 of the 8 weeks they were there. And that was enough for me.With the nanny.. obviously they will still get sick but since July when the nanny started, they've been sick a grand total of 3 times. Once in August, October, and just this past week at Christmas.
Like alot of people have said, they will get sick either now or when they start school. My philosophy on that is I would MUCH rather have them sick when they are old enough to talk to me and tell me where they hurt and how much!!! LOL
I'm with Jen - I'd rather have Jack get sick when he's older and can tell me what's going on - and also when he understands more what's happening. For now - I am BLESSED to have my mom watch him 4 days a week while I work. He's been sick twice - once for 3 days - once for over a week - and has never been on antibiotics KNOCK ON WOOOOOODDD!!!!! I feel very lucky.
PS - Loree - I'm networking, ha ha! I'm looking for a new part-time job - even 4 days is too much - I'm looking to go down to 2 or 3, unfortunately not an option where I am now. I'm looking for anything PT in the communications/writing field - so let me know if you hear of anything in our neck of the woods!
