Family Rant

Okay, got to get this out of my system....SIL has told me before that she could "care less" about me being pregnant cause she's not a "baby person."  Fine, whatever.  I don't expect a ticker tape parade thrown in my honor.  Today I posted on Facebook that my appt today went good, heartbeat was in the 150s and my big U/S was scheduled for the 27th of Jan.  Within the hour SIL writes that "some people need to get over themselves" and something about wanting a barf bucket.  Come on, I was just updating friends and family and I am rightfully excited.  It's not like I tell people every little detail.  I barely ever mention the fact that I am pregnant on my FB status. She just frustrates me sometimes, but I am working on not letting her get to me.....and this has made me feel better :)

    She sounds ridiculous. You SHOULD be excited and my guess is your family and friends (minus her) LOVE hearing your updates.

    Well first off, what a charming thing to tell a pregnant woman, much less a pregnant relative! Secondly though, she might not have been talking about you. A similar thing happened to me in gmail where I had changed my status and then not ten minutes later a friend changed his status and it seemed to reflect mine. So I changed MINE sort of as a WTF and he messaged me saying that it hadn't been re: me at all and explained the reason he posted it.

    It's easy to see drama over the internet where none exists, just saying.

    Was it a comment to your status or an update to hers? Of the former really rude. And I would probably respond by saying how appreciative you are of her caring interest, it really speaks to her character.

    It was a status update...she even updated her Myspace with the same thing.  This isn't really anything new for us.....sad.....
