So I bought some cute maternity jeans at Target today. They are the kind that don't have a panel or anything, they just sit below your belly. They fit pretty well. Better now that I have washed and dried them. One question: On each side of the inside, there is a clear button with a button hole right next to it... What is that for?? I'm confused!!

Is it to make them smaller? As if you bought them in 1st tri, buttoned the little buttons to make the waist smaller and then unbuttoned it in 2nd/3rd?

i just bought these jeans last week, and was puzzling over the same thing.

if you unbutton the button, and tug on the elastic, you'll see that there are more "buttonholes" in the elastic. thus, you can tighten (or loosen) the pants by adjusting the elastic.

it took me two days to figure it out...

You girls are right! The elastic was pushed back about 3 inches inside each side but finallllly got it out with my tweezers. Now they fit even better!

I have a pair of these pants on today. The elastic keeps scratching my side. On one side I was able to pull the fabric over it and now its fine. But on the other side I can't get the fabric to stay over the button and elastic.

Is anyone else having this issue?

I don't know what they're for, but they keep pinching the crap out of me!
