Wipes warmer ?

I just got the Prince Lionheart Cloth wipe warmer.  I set it up about 5 days ago with my cheapy washcloths, BG bamboo and the warmies that came with it.  I set it up according to the directions, or I think I did but I thre away the pkg and directions.  I soaked the pad to put on the bottom, soaked each rolled wipe and stacked them.  All was fine for the first day or so but now they smell horrible.  There seems to be some yellowing where the BG's were on the pad.  I did not add extra water, was I supposed to?  I heard many people that don't use anything else in there, but does adding an EO help with my problem?  I've noticed a bit of a stink on my diapers once he's peed, maybe I have a bigger problem.

I wash every other to third day, use All Free and Clear.  I wash once on cold on delicate (old machine, no rinse cycle), wash once on Hot, cold rinse then dry pf's and inserts on high, hang dry anything with PUL and elastic.  Thoughts?

    Is the pad dried out? If my wipes sit on the pad after it dries out they'll turn a bit yellow. It should stay moist.

    Nope, it's wet, in fact, I added more water thinking I might have missed that part in the directions.  Thanks though.
