We did white with DD and LOVE it. We're doing espresso with this baby, and it didn't matter the sex, but that was b/c I didn't want to do white again, and I don't like any of the other colors.
We're still torn right now. I think we'll see which bedding we like and decide based on that. However we have an old dresser that will be in the baby's room for storage/change table so we may go with a white crib to match that.
Whatever we pick will be used for the next baby too so this decision is going to be a tough one.
I would go with dark since white will get dirty once they hit the toddler years. We made the mistake of buying white for DD, and now it has stains everywhere.
I wanted dark, but once I started figuring out the look I wanted for my nursery, I realized that white would look better. I'm doing lots of blue in the nursery, so the dark furniture would just make it look too boyish.
We picked out a dark wood crib but haven't ordered it yet. I'm still getting used to the idea that I'm having a girl (really convinced myself I was having a boy) but I like the look of dark wood and lighter colors, like pink. Plus the rest of our furniture in our house is darker.

This! I would also get what matches your bedding. We are doing mostly pink and brown(expresso) colored stuff.
I love white furniture for a girl. The only thing though is that I always view white furniture as girly. So if you have more children and have a boy, then you may not be able to use. Unless of course you like white furniture for boys.
I have dark furniture for my son so that's what this next baby is getting.
I think it's a personal taste...I like chocolate brown coloured funniture, regardless of the sex.
DH's grandma passed down an armoire to him when he was a baby and he wants to pass it down to our baby, unfortunately it is light coloured wood, so now I have a choice of getting light coloured wood to match the armoire, or just get a crib and dresser in chocolate brown and not have a match three peice set.

I have the same problem...i love the white but DH likes dark brown....i think with the bedding we might do the white looks better tho so I think ill get my way
We're doing dark partially because I like seeing the actual wood (instead of it being painted0 and because we prefer darker furniture better. I also think this will be nicer as she gets older and more versatile if we have more kids who may not be girls
We are doing white regardless of gender. Most of the furniture in our house is dark, so I like that look. The nursery is pretty small though & I feel like dark will make that room look smaller. White just seems fresh & nice for babies.
i think it depends on the colors of the room and bedding set that you choose. dh and i had fallen in love with an espresso crib, but it doesnt look right with the bedding i chose. so, it looks like we're going with the white furniture.
While I love how white looks, I think it gets dirty easily. We are going with a medium/dark wood for the crib. We don't want it to be too girly, b/c we hope to use the same crib for another baby. I don't think the color of the wood is what makes it gender specific, though. It really depends on the styling.

This is the 3 in 1 crib that I currently like:

Personally, I'm not a fan of white furniture. We're going with an oak crib and a yellow dresser no matter the sex.
