2nd Trimester

Classes

When are you taking them and what are you taking?

I just signed up for two of them with our hopsital.  I signed up for the child birth classes in April and the breast feeding class in April as well =)

They also have a class called the Happiest Baby on the Block in March.  I think we are going to take this one as well.

  • We took a "Newborn care from nose to toes" class when I was about 24 weeks (for DH mostly since he'd never been around infants).  We took 5 Lamaze classes around 25-26 weeks.  That's really all.  I would definitely recommend a breastfeeding class also!
  • We are taking a birthing class at the hospital. It is 2 Sat. mornings in February.

  • We have a newborn care class next week (only one we could get with DH's work schedule) and I have a bf class in February.

  • With DD we took the hospital offered childbirth class, breastfeeding class, and newborn care class.  This time we'll just take the childbirth class (I'm not as worried about the new baby care, I remember most of that, but I'd like a refresher on some of the child birth things particularly given that we've moved and will be at a different hospital).

  • we start our bradley classes on saturday, at the suggestion of my obgyn, who told us that, in his 27 years of practice, the most prepared and successful mothers he's assisted were trained in the bradley method.  from the chief at the hospital, i considered that advice worth following.
