This is my second but with my first I never took the birthing class. I was told that the baby would be c-section birth early on but then conditions changed and they decided to go vaginally. Byt that time there was no time to get into a class. I read a few things saw a video but still the nurse got pissy at me because I was breathing wrong during labor.
So this time around I am wondering if the classes would help at all. I barely remember much about last time as it is.
Why did you sign up for your class if you are doing them

This may have changed my mind! I was not planning on taking any classes, because as stated by a PP I figured the baby was coming out one way or another regardless of classes (and I am sure whatever breathing I learn will be out the window when real labor hits lol) BUT I hadn't thought about the fact that if an important intervention needed to take place there may not be the time to thoroughly explain it to me. Thank you for this comment as it gave me a different perspective on the hospital classes and what can be gained from them.
Woo-hoo, l'm useful
. Luckily we didn't end up needing intervention during labor, but I think I would have fainted if the first time somebody hauled out forceps or a vacuum was when I was trying to give birth to my baby!
THIS...lol. We never took one with DD because we thought that all the techniques we would have learned would be out the window when the real thing comes. We just did what the nurses told us to do, and that worked great .

We opted for two Saturdays rather than four weeknights, because it's fewer meetings (also the weeknight courses don't end until 9, which gets us home late).
Basically, I think we're taking the class because...well, I'm not sure why. Mr. Nonymous hasn't read any of the books, so I figure this will be useful info for both of us.
