2nd Trimester

Not feeling pg (vent) :(

This really sucks! This is my 2nd pg & last time I felt movement by 15-16 weeks. Even though I've heard you feel movement earlier the 2nd time, I'm approaching 18 weeks and NOTHING. Now that I'm finally over the horrendous m/s, I don't even feel pg anymore b/c I have no movement. The ob asked about movement at my 16 wk appt. but I had nothing. It almost makes me want to go buy a Doppler to make sure everythings okay. Even worse my big u/s appt. isn't until Jan 12th! How can 2 pregnancies be sooooo different?? Ugghhh!!!!!

Re: Not feeling pg (vent) :(

  • :(  sorry to hear!  This is my 1st preg & it was frustrating to not feel anything until 20+ wks, I can only imagine how annoying it must be fore a 2nd preg!!

Try not to worry too much, maybe you're carrying this baby different from the first one & that's why you can't feel kicking yet.

  • Have faith... Every pregnancy is different and depending on how your carring you may not feel it for a while.  I didn't start feeling movement until 21 weeks and 23 weeks for kicking.

    It will happen...

  • You may have an anterior placenta which would affect how early you feel movement, even if this is baby #2. Just be patient and trust that everything is fine. I am sure you'll feel movement before you know it!
  • I felt more movement with the first one also.  By 18 weeks my first was moving and shaking all over.  This time around 16 weeks I felt flutters, but only within the past 2 weeks have I felt kicks and still not as often or strong as the first.  I was actually convinced that I was having a boy this time just b/c this baby is so lazy, but just found out today it's another girl....don't worry, your new baby will be on the move soon.

  • Thanx ladies. You've helped alot. I think my placenta is in a different position this time. I'll be patient & wait till I get to see LO in a few weeks.
