2nd Trimester

Annoyed with DH

Have you ever felt that your DH never makes anytime for you? It is soooo annoying! He works like 70 hours a week and when he gets home of course he doesn't feel like doing anything!! He is very devoted to his job and is a very good worker, but come on! There has been a few things that I have been wanting to get done with the house for the past few months. They don't take very long and I can't do them because I can't lift heavy items. I am getting to the point to call my friend and have her come over to help me.

Just needed to vent...Smile

Re: Annoyed with DH

  • I feel your pain girl!

A good friend told me that men and women prepare differently for the new baby coming.  He is probably worrying about the financial aspect of everything, while you are more concerned with the nesting.  Just something to keep in mind : )

  • I understand your frustration, but have you ever worked a 70-hour week before? When I owned my business, I worked 80+ hours a week. It's absolutely exhausting, and nothing will turn him off more than coming home to another "to-do" list. Your man might come around if you showered him with a few appreciation gifts/gestures for all his hard work.

  • Absolutely understand your pain, but I agree with a post above that men prepare differently.  My hubby is frantically trying to get his business in order (financial advisor) so that I can stay home after LO is born.  I've been trying to just be sweet lately and let him know that I support him in how hard he is working to prepare for our little family.

  • Ugh, at least your DH has a good reason- mine is just being L-A-Z-Y!  Last night he had the nerve to complain that I don't do anything (when FYI, my house is cleaner than anyone I know b/c I hate things unorganized and filthy, not to mention that I ended up doing all that stuff that he's been saying he'll do for wks!)  So I told him so!  I'm so tired from the pregnancy that I wish I could just plop on the couch and zone out for the rest of the night come 6 too, but I can't b/c someone has to cook dinner, take care of DD, and let's not mention all the unpacking from the holiday travels... • I think that I am more annoyed at his job than anything. Everyone else that he works with takes off for two weeks and he takes off for two days because no one else sticks around to do anything. It would also be a different story if he made overtime. But, unfortunately he doesn't. We work together in the same place, and the people here seem to take advantage of him sometimes. I just wish he could say no once and awhile and have someone else do it that is supposed to.
  • I would at least talk to your DH about this now... If he has no time for YOU, what is he going to do when the baby comes? Not having my DH spend time with us would NOT be an option for me, so that's definitely something I would be adressing beforehand.
