I was just looking online and found out that the only one allowed in the birth or post partum room and labor and delivery that only the support person is allowed to be there. No visitors to you in recovery at all so my folks and DD won't be able to come to the hospital.
Also they cancelled all hospital tours and the refresher birthing class is held off site from the hospital.
Also if you are pregnant and having complications you and your support person are to go to labor and delivery not the ER.
Anyone else have these restrictions at their hospital.
Re: What are your hospital visitation policy?
I know my hospital doens't allow children in the women and children wing during flu season. I know there are huge groups (all adults of course) in the post partum rooms to see baby.
I haven't checked the rules. This is just what I've observed at my hospital.
- no tours
- we were always told to go to L&D and not the ER if there were complications...that hasn't changed
- DH (or support person) and 2 other people over 18 will be allowed in L&D and in the post partum unit.
My hospital allows an unrestricted # of visitors (regardless of age) and visitation hours are 24/7 unless the patient specifies otherwise. Each L&D room is private with a couch and 2 chairs. Even with flu season they have no added restrictions.
