DH's aunt...

I guess I haven't kept it a secret in my past posts that DH's dad's side is nuts. Well, his started refusing to buy us anything on our registry. We didn't care, she did this for our wedding. We told his mom not to get upset that it would all work out in the end. Now the cat is out of the bag. She's flipping out because...we're having a Dr. Seuss nursery and she wants us to have Winnie the Pooh. Yup, you heard that right. She said Dr. Seuss was on drugs and I shouldn't subject that baby to that. Is she serious? I don't know whether to laugh, walk away, tell her she's nuts...I'm at a loss.

    Do all 3!

lol, I'm so tempted. I mean who really in their right mind tells new parents what their nursery is going to be? All because she thinks Dr. Seuss was on drugs. Is she kidding me?

  • So every kid who's been read a Dr. Seuss book or seen "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" has been subjected to drugs? I seriously doubt that your nursery bedding/decor is going to subject your baby to anything negative.

Forget her. I agree with PP: laugh, walk away. AND tell her she's nuts!

She did stuff like this at our wedding too. But this really takes the cake.

I think that's how she sees it. She's done stuff like this before. It used to get to me, but now I let it roll off my shoulders. My MIL gets upset by it because she knows it's completely ridiculous.

But, I told my MIL if she gets Winnie the Pooh stuff, we'll smile and it'll go back to BRU. No big deal. :)

Well since this is her pattern I wouldn't bother to call her nuts. Nutty people never really get it anyway. I'd just walk away and whatever she gets you, take it back. Then make sure you have pics in the album you are going to show family with your lovely Dr. Seuss nursery.

I have already started progress pics of the nursery. How things are coming along for the first album. I'm sure she'll definitely see the photos of our non Winnie the Pooh, very much Dr. Seuss nursery :D
