Possibly a dumb question..

I have a splitting headache. I have extra strength tylenol. I thought this was okay to take, but was told yesterday by the doctors office that it should be regular tylenol. I never even knew there was such a thing anymore. Should I just take the extra strength? Or go buy regular? I already took extra strength once for a headache a few weeks ago.

I always thought it was one extra-strength or two regular. I'm pretty sure that's what I was told/took when pregnant.

I was told extra strenght was fine. Take 2 and have a coke.

Okay another dumb question - why the coke?

I hate coke, and can't drink soda in general, so I won't be having one. But I am really curious since two of you said it haha.

The caffeine helps dilate your blood vessels. My Mom gets horrible migraines and said they always go away faster when you takes her pain meds with a coke. Said her dr told her that trick years ago.

Exactly this. If you can stomach a coke, at least try to drink it if you can. Or try another high-caffeinated beverage/idea.

And One ES= a little less potent than 2 Regular. If you are dying from the HA & you aren't taking it often, two ES every once in a while won't hurt. Drs mainly tell you one b/c Tylenol is the "safest" pain reliever for pregnant women and many pregnant women will take 2 ES every four hours, if told they could...

I'm the type that doesn't take meds unless absolutely necessary. Even something as simple as tylenol. So no worries there, I took these two and that's that :-)

I'll try to get some caffeine in my system, but I really can't have soda. I can't have any carbonated bevs because I can't burp, so I get an awful stomach ache.
