XP: Going in for spotting

I posted this on 1st tri because I'm 13 wks, so kinda inbetween.

I know this topic comes up a lot, so sorry for the repeat, but I had a good-sized clot this morning - bright red. I actually don't know how big it was because the toilet water turned red, so I couldn't see anything. Anyone else have this?

I had another clot I passed about a month ago. I called the doc and I'm going in in about 30 min. Hoping everything's ok.

I had my 12 wk appt last monday and we heard the heartbeat - 160 bpm, and all of my bloodwork was fine. So, I'm not sure why this is happening....just a little nervous.

Anyone have similar stories to share and ease my mind?

    I've had that happen 3 times during this PG. Have they diagnosed you with a subchorionic hematoma? That is what I have and that is what caused the bleeding, and the clots. Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

    Yup sure did at 8 and 12 weeks and some change with my 1st bfp.  Everything was fine.  The dr. said that sometimes that happens due to shedding of the lining of the uterus or something like that?  I'm sure you're fine ;-).  It's just scary, because they never take spotting lightly.  It's always considered to be an emergency.  Good luck to you, although I have a strong feeling you're fine ;)

    I did. Right around 13-14 weeks I had a cramping/bleeding episode that and we went to the ER. I got a U/S, heard the heartbeat, and had a pelvic. All looked fine, except I was bleeding. The doc said it sometimes happens and there's not much you can do about it except to stay off your feet as much as possible. I saw my OB the next week and he said pretty much the same, adding that sometimes in pregnancy the cervix gets more sensitive and it takes less to make it bleed, and I was fine. I would say even if the dr. says things are fine, try to stay off your feet as much as possible and drink lots of water.
