2nd Trimester

Weird symptom.

I really don't want to be one of those moms to call the dr for every little thing so I want to know if any of you ladies have experienced this symptom.  I do plan on talking to the Dr about it when I go in on Monday.  When I stretch, I sometimes get a really strong, pulling, sharp cramp in my lower abdomen, right above my pelvic bone.  I only get this pain when I stretch and it hurts REALLY bad.  Does this sound familiar to any of you?   TIA.

Re: Weird symptom.

  • I don't think that's a strange symptom.  I think it's RLP & very common.

    Sounds like this to me.

  • RLP

Your round ligaments start out around 2 inches and by the end of pregnancy are 10 inches.  It's bound to cause a lot of sharp pain.

  • I was wondering what all of this RLP talk was.  That's really assuring though.  Thanks.

  • Its totally normal, RLP.
  • I think that is normal. I had the same pain a few weeks ago a couple of days in a row. I was laying in bed in the morning after I woke up and did a huge stretch forgetting I was pregnant and OUCH!!!! It hurt like hell! I had to remind myself the second time around not to do that again!
  • I get that a lot! I was told it's just RLP, BUT if it stays for a long period of time or gets worse to go in and have it checked since it's possible to detach those since they are so loose! So just be careful! :)
