$ spend on Nursary Bedding?

How much did you spend on your nursary 4-peice bedding set.  Just making sure I am not going overboard.

After taxes, shipping and international fees my total for a 4-peice bedding set, lamp w/ shade and pillow pack is $331.92.  That seems like soooo much to me, but if that is normal, then let me know!

 TIA

Re: $ spend on Nursary Bedding?

  • Mine was under $200.

You must PIP when you get it :)

  • Our set was originally $150 on sale for $90.  We had to get 2 so getting pricey stuff wasnt going to happen.  And Im in love with it.

  • That does sound a little high but if I found bedding I loved, I'd definitely spend it!

  • All the sets I've been looking at are around $150
  • I haven't purchased mine yet, but that doesn't sound outrageous to me. I can imagine spending $250 or more after checking out some bedding online.

  • we just bought sheets.  so $20

  • Yikes, that sounds high to me, but mine didn't come with a lamp or all those shipping fees.  The set that I just adored was $199 on jcpenney's website.  I waited for a sale and a coupon code and got it for $135!  (plus $19.99 s&h I think).  I thought that was STILL kind of high.

The best part is that it's definitely a girl pattern, so if we find out it's a boy after out big US on January 18th, I need to return it.

  • the 4 pc set is $169...I don't WANT to pay that much but I love it. After I buy all the accessories though ( lamp/curtains/rug/wall decals&hangings/sheets and blankets) it will be about the same you paid. I think I spent that much on DD#1's nursery bedding/decor.
  • I got a 4 pc set and it was $165 and that was with me price hunting a couple different sites

Check out my post from yeasterday..."Need Opinions on Nursary"  I pip'd the bedding I like.

The bedding itself is on sale for $223, but I want the matching lamp w/ shade, and pillow pack. (I also want the matching hamper, but they are out of stock) so I guess $331 isn't that bad...like I said, that is also after shipping and international fees. ($55 additional)

  • Mine was a 6 piece set and it cost around $150.
  • I got the Chase PBK bedding, all together it is 300.00 for what i'm getting which is the quilt, bumper, crib skirt, 4 sheets and 1 sham.  I was ready to pay about 500.00 for other brands, but I decided not to do that and save that money.
  • I put a lot of the accessories on my registry. I am having two showers which are pretty big so hopefully I will be able to get some of the baby room decorations.
  • I am not buying a full set - just some pieces, and I am having them custom done on etsy.

The bumper is $80 and the skirt $40. I will just get Target sheets. I hate matching so I am not a big help. :)

When we do buy it, I also plan on just buying sheets.  I like the fancy quilts and all, but don't really see a use in them.

  • We spent under $100 on ours. We got it on clearance at Target.

  • We got the 4 piece set, 2 paintings, and Mobile for $157.00. It was on clearance at BRU.

  • Ours was about $100.  (And BTW, Nursery is spelt like this, I noticed it your post yesterday, but didn't want to say anything.  Not trying to be mean, just trying to help you out).

  • Well we haven't decided which set we're getting b/c we want to wait to see if it's a boy or girl.  We've narrowed it down to two sets at PB Kids though and ours will be a lot cheaper than that, but we're not getting as much either.  We're only buying the crib skirt and having a matching quilt made by a local Amish quilting group (way cheaper than PB Kids and will be a size big enough to use on a daybed later on) .  Our sheets will come from from Walmart in solid colors to match the theme.  DH works there and gets a discount and babies soil their sheets all the time anyway so I'd rather have several solid sheets rather than 1 or 2 "pretty" ones.
  • We had ours custom made... fabric was purchased by us about $50, then about $110 for someone off etsy to make it.  And its absolutely perfect!!!
  • I got mine online from Bunks N Stuff...I found it somewhere else and then googled it to see if I could find it cheaper and Bunks had it the cheapest, and they offer free shipping too.   So all together my bill was $288, but that included the 4 piece set, and all the accessories (lamp, valance, hamper, wall decor) except the diaper stacker which I didn't feel I'd need.   Here is a link to my bedding:

  • We are not buying a set.  We won't be using the bumper, or the blanket because of SIDS concerns.  So, we will be buying some fitted sheets, and a bed skirt.  The ones I like are from PBK.  I think the sheets are 20-30 and the bed skirt is 50.

After talking to my sister, who has a 15 month old, she just told me the same thing.  She recommends not using a bumper or the blanket b/c of SIDS.  so now...I don't really see spending that $ other then the shear "look" of the nursery.  I LOVE the bedding...but could that $ be used for something better...I think I will have to sleep on this one.

Thanks again for all your help ladies!

  • I had wanted a couple of bedding sets but I don't think I feel comfortable using the bumper or the comforter so I am going to just get some fitted sheets, so... 25 per sheet? Maybe I'll get four, so 100 bucks is what I aim to spend.

  • I found a really cute set on ebay, it is brand new in the bag. It is a 9 piece set and I won it for $53. I would get on there and look, you get way more for your money.
  • The set I'm in love with is like $500.  I don't think that will be happening.  But all the others I like are at least $250 - without the lamps and stuff.  I'm not sure what we'll do.  I don't know what to buy and what to register for.  This is so confusing!

  • I think thats high. I am trying to spend under $150. I can't imagine spending $330 on bedding - but then again I have never spent that much on my bedding either.

The word "spelt" is considered grammatically incorrect, in America the correct word is "spelled".

  • Ours is a gift from my parents, but I know it cost them $80 for a 9 piece set, plus $20 shipping.  I found it for them on ebay--it normally costs $200 for the set. Baby bedding isn't used for that long--we'll probably want a cute toddler set and then set up the bed as a twin as soon as possible.
