My mom just called and invited me and DH to lunch with her and my dad before our u/s. I was thinking that this is great since we don't have much "lunch" food in our house and it'll help pass the time.
(I should have known this part was coming): "Well, since we'll both be in Manchester and you only have to wait 20 minutes from the time lunch ends til your u/s, I can just come with you and see my LO too".
Uhm, WHAT?! YOUR LO? Nopes. I'm "your" LO and guess what, I said no the first 15,000 times you asked to come to an u/s so I don't know why you think this will be any different. Oh, wait, cuz you're "bribing" me with lunch? The answer remains the same. At this point, I'll cancel my u/s if you insist on this craziness.

I'm surprised she even said anything - that she didn't sure follow you to the u/s place and show up there. How presumptuous of her!
I LOLed at her attempt to be sneaky.
I'd call her back and tell her that if that's her only reason for doing lunch, you're going to have to cancel (lunch, not the u/s).
I'd let you in before I'd let her in

By the way, my Mom has been doing the same thing...our babies are apparently hers. Makes me nuts but I knew it was coming.
If she were really smart, she'd have waited until after lunch...at least you had a bit of a warning!!!
side note: prays to thank G-d for having her in-laws in South Africa and mom that is satisfied with pictures...
Not to add the bad juju to this, but be prepared that next she may do like my MIL and start asking to bring in a video cam when she is in there for the birth! Um, hello, I don't even want my own parents in the room when I'm pushing out baby (and this is #2), much less my crazy in law and a video camera!
So I thought I'd warn you
