Question from 2nd Tri (25 weeks)

Quick question and wondering if any of you ladies have experienced this yet. This week I've been having some lightning stike-like pains starting near what feels where my cervix is and traveling upwards. It doesn't last long and I don't have any stomach/uterus tightening, so I don't think its a contraction or braxton hicks.

Anyone know what this is? I'm not too concerned, just curious as to what's causing it. Sorry if this is a repeat question, I've just started lurking here this week and that search engine sucks!

Any time I have fleeting shooting pains near my cervix, I just attribute it to the baby kicking things around down there. Cervix kicks are not fun and they usually take my breath away for just a moment!

lol, and since you referred to it as a 'lightning strike' it seems you knew exactly what it was without knowing what it was! totally common and harmless, though annoying.

That's LO messing with your cervix aka lightening crotch. It sucks but there is really nothing you can do about it.
