for my MIL and sister, whoever ends up staying here with her when DH and I are at the hospital. it's really hard to not overstate the obvious, but my sister has NO experience with children. MIL ran a daycare. so i'm sure i'll end up offending one or both of them, but i wouldn't feel right just leaving her with them without even a suggestion about meals, sleep, baths, etc. right?
Re: typing up "instructions" for DD
I just wanted to say that your daughter is absolutely adorable in this picture!! She looks like she had a blast cooking with mom!
I can't wait for those days with my LO!
Congrats!
Oh, and I think its perfectly acceptable to write instructions!!! I would want them if I were watching her.
aw, thank you
It's a fine idea. However, don't be offended if people don't follow every last thing on it.
When my nephew was born, I went up to visit. My sister had to go back in to the hospital, so I was watching my niece (who was almost 3 yo). Anyway, my sis was in the ER all afternoon and evening. When I put Maggie to bed, I asked her how many graham crackers she got with her stories. She said 2. This didn't seem unreasonable so I let her have them.
When my sister found out, she was like "why didn't you read my instructions? What if she had been lying?"
Now, Maggie wasn't lying...she got 2 crackers every night. But if she had been lying and was only supposed to get 1, what was the big deal?
Anyway, my sister was really upset that I didn't use the instructions. I really wasn't trying to upset her. Just be prepared for people to do things their way.
